Glen Watson
Verona— Glen Watson, 78, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones at his home. Born on November 14, 1940, in Arkansas, he was a son of the late Willard Watson and Christine Potts Watson Hawkins.
Glen owned and operated Watson’s Body Shop for most of his life, where he spent his time building, painting, and repairing cars. When he wasn’t at the shop, he enjoyed the great outdoors: fishing, waterskiing, and camping at the lake with his family. He also had a passion for motorcycles. Glen was a member of the Tupelo Hog Roasters and the Northeast Mississippi Street Rod Association. He often held a fish fry to entertain his family and friends with good food and fellowship. Glen liked the company of his friends around, and he especially loved to babysit his grandson, Eli. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Angie McCain (Bobby Joe); sons, Ricky Watson (Kaye), Tim Watson (Kim), Rodney Watson (Sarah); grandchildren, Dawn Watson, Kayla Grisham, Chad Watson, Katie Watson, Eli McCain; great-grandchildren, Westen and Luke Grisham; sister, Judy Sims (Wayne); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Watson; brother, David Watson; and sister, Joann Hubert.
A graveside service will be held at 3PM on Friday, November 23, 2018, at New Hope Cemetery in Hatley. Billy Cox and Bro. Jamie Gillentine will be speaking. Pallbearers will include Bobby Joe McCain, Eli McCain, Chad Watson, Bruce Sisk, Richard Nolen, Dick Godfrey, and Riley Turner.
