Greenwood Springs – George Dallas Clements, 56, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at his residence in Greenwood Springs, MS. George was born on January 10, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois.
George attended Chester County High School in Henderson, Tennessee. He married the love of his life, Mary Frances Harris on November 20, 1979. They were blessed with two sons. Known by many as “Uncle Si”, George was a people person. He worked for Mueller Brass for 20 years and then at Cooper Tire for 2 years. George was a handy man who loved to work and fix anything broken. George was of the Methodist Faith and he loved his family. His animals, especially his dog “Bufford”, were very special to him. A very active man, some of his favorite activities included spending time with grandkids, duck hunting, traveling, camping, fishing, grilling out, and motor boating. George had a great sense of humor with a big heart. He was such a caring man that he gave his hair to Locks of Love. A dedicated man, he was a member of the Splunge Masonic Lodge for 35 years. He was also a member of the Eastern Star, Amory Chapter 41.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Mary Frances Harris, Greenwood Springs; sons, Ellis Clements (Jennifer), Athens, Dallas Clements (Elizabeth), Amory; grandchildren, Korey, Lauren, Landon, Natalie and Owen Clements; Marshall and Layla Clements; mother and father-in-law, Ellis Ray and Mary Alice Harris; special friends, Steve and Vickie Bennett.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Cemetery in Hatley with Scott Wood officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Bennett, Scott, Wood, Jimmy Chavis, John Robinson, Kenny Ballard, and Jered Smith. His grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm Saturday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
