Hatley, Miss.—Geneva Yvonne Barnes Sanderson, 83, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born November 5, 1930 in Beaverton, Alabama, she was a daughter of Lonnie and Rozena Gibbs Barnes. She married Herbert Sanderson in 1948. She had worked as a doctor’s office receptionist and before her retirement, she worked as a secretary for Kerr-McGee. She was Baptist.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Beaverton Cemetery in Beaverton, AL with Bro. Dean Smith officiating. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Herbert Sanderson of Hatley; one sister, Shelby Frye of Sulligent; and one brother, Clayton Barnes of Gardendale, AL.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 10:15 at the funeral home on Friday.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Cantrell.
