Gayle Boozer

Amory – Margaret Gayle Sullivan Boozer, 80, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at her residence in Amory, MS. She was born on March 27, 1944, in Okolona, MS to the late Euclid Sullivan and Margaret Mitchell Sullivan.

Gayle grew up in a family with two brothers and graduated from Okolona High School. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Dale Boozer and they raised three children, Kenny, Jennifer and Maggie. She worked for many years at Shumpert Truck Line in Amory and alongside her husband, she was a great provider and a loving mother. Gayle’s family meant the world to her and she always put them first. She adored being a mother and loving wife to Jimmy.

A woman who loved the Lord, Gayle was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she worshipped and fellowshipped with her church family. Some of her closest friends were Linda Butler and Sue Grey. Gayle loved to be outdoors working, especially gardening and growing beautiful flowers. Some of her favorite past times, besides spending precious time with family, was sewing, painting, and listening to Elvis music. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by so many.

Her family and friends know that she is at peace, in the presence of the Lord. They look forward to the day they are reunited again.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Pitts, Amory, and Maggie Boozer, Tualatin, Oregon; son, Kenny Boozer, Gattman, MS; grandchildren, Kaleo Smith, Jesse Steverson, Jimme Lee Pitts, Rodney Levi Pitts, Sofie Pitts, Kayden Pitts, Olivia Pitts, Ruby Pitts, and Gracie Mae Pitts; brothers, Lesley Sullivan, Lackey, MS and Larry Sullivan, Texas; special friend, Linda Butler.
