Gary D. Sutton

Hamilton – Gary “Bartender” Sutton, 37, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Born on June 9, 1979, in Amory, he was a son of Charles Allen “Chuck” and Beverly Pennington Sutton.

Gary went to Hamilton High School. He attended Bartahatchie Baptist Church, and he loved his family and children very much. Very talented with his hands, he went to work as a welder for Marathon in Vernon, Alabama. He worked at MDOT as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Gary also worked on Holloway Farms.

A man who had a heart of gold, he never met a stranger, and he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He would clown around and always left a lasting impression on those he met. You would always know where Gary stood and once you got to know him, you loved him. Gary was a comedian, who loved to make people laugh. He loved to sing Karaoke and his voice sounded just like Johnny Cash. Gary liked to spend time outdoors, to ride motorcycles, and attend motorcycle rallies. He was passionate about benefit bike rides for Veterans and children. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion.
