Gary W. Mcfarling

Amory – Gary W. McFarling, 61, died on October 25, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Born on September 17, 1952, in Tupelo, he was a son of the late Marlin Watson and Eddie Lee Dowdy McFarling.

Gary attended Aberdeen and Amory Schools. He honorably served two tours of duty in the US Navy with one tour of duty in Vietnam. Gary worked as a machine operator at PolyPride. He was a member of Amory Church of Christ. A fun person to be around, Gary loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, rock music, motorcycles, crossword puzzles, and taking his grandchildren to the movies and to get milkshakes.

Survivors include his daughter, April Strawbridge, Saltillo; sons, E-9 Scott Addington, USAF, (Lilinoe), Northern California, and Lance McFarling (Kylie), Amory; brother, Perry McFarling, Amory; grandchildren, Scotty Addington , Bobby Addington, Chris Addington, Austin McFarling (Taylor), Lea McFarling, Sam McFarling, Lexie Bradberry, and James Clifton; and great-granddaughter, Eliza McFarling.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, October 28 in Masonic Cemetery Mr. Philip Hathcock officiating. Pallbearers will be Tommy Justice, Dale Otts, Johnny Pounds, Danny Parham, Kevin Pate, and Joe Fannin.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
