West Point—Gail Holley Kuykendall, 70, entered eternal life on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Born in Amory, Mississippi on October 14, 1949, she was the only daughter, out of six children, of Valeria Estelle Gann Holley and the late Herschel Freeman Holley.
Gail graduated from Nettleton High School. She was the store manager of Citi Trends in West Point for 27 years before retiring in 2018. Gail was a woman of great faith, and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she enjoyed fellowship and feeding her fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. She loved her church family, and once a week she cooked a meal for the ladies of her church. Her priority was ensuring the bellies around her were well fed. She also frequently sang in the choir of Faith Baptist. Her heart went out to children in need, and she was passionate about charities like Operation Christmas Child and Samaritan’s Purse.
Gail was a straight-forward woman who was honest with everyone she met. She had a loving and generous heart. Her family was top priority, and she never missed out on a school function or sport when her grandchildren were participating. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with her whole heart. Gail was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a wonderful grandmother. She treasured her friendships and family. Gail will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Gail is survived by her husband, Wayne Kuykendall, of West Point; daughters, Tammi Humble, Nettleton, Charity Suggs (Johnny), Columbus, Patricia Riley, AZ; son, David Kuykendall; mother, Valeria Holley; grandchildren, David Kuykendall, Tana King (Joey), Logan, Madison, and Lucas Suggs; great-grandchildren, Blakely, Annalise, and Josh King; brothers, Johnny Holley (Donna), Amory, Randy Holley, Nettleton, Billy Holley, Nettleton, Gary Holley (Beth), Savannah, GA; sister-in-law, Wanda Holley; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
