Greenwood Springs – Fred Allen “Freddy” McCaine, 46, died on Friday, November 4 2011, at North MS Medical Center. Born on October 17, 1965, in Memphis, TN, he was a son of Miriam Mize McCaine and the late H. A. “Mack” McCaine.
Freddy was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1984. A man with a big heart, he married his best friend, Joyce Nix, on December 6, 1985. Having worked at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in maintenance, he owned and operated McCaine’s Wash before becoming disabled. He attended Bartahatchie Baptist Church. Known as a prankster and as a person who would help anyone in need, he cherished time spent with family. Having a fun-loving personality that could light up a room, Freddy loved to cook, especially grilling out and frying fish, for other people. Enjoying the outdoors, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Freddy enjoyed listening to County, Oldies, Soft Rock, and Gospel music.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 26 years, Joyce N. McCaine, Greenwood Springs; daughter, Sherry McCaine Box (Richard), Parham Community; son, James Allen McCaine, Greenwood Springs; grandchildren, Hunter McCaine, Jennifer Chavis, and Cali Box; mother, Miriam M. McCaine, Greenwood Springs; sister, Teena M. McCoy (David), Southaven; brother, Harold Williams, Caledonia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J. L. and Shirley Nix, Caledonia; sisters-in-law, Linda Kissel (Leslie), Hamilton, Betty Murphy (Tommy), Sulligent, AL, and Brenda Hamric (Leslie), Guntown; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, November 6 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Durrett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Taylor, Mike Steele, Jimmy Arnold, Jimmy Brewer, Franklin Webb, Dale Thompson, Doug Blaylock, and David Boyd. Honorary pallbearer will be Roger Turman.
Visitation will be continue on Sunday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Bartahatchie Baptist Church, 40512 Wolfe Rd., Caledonia, MS 39740.
