Frances Hogan
Amory - Ida "Frances" White Hogan, 82, passed away on June 1, 2016 at Golden Living Nursing Center, Amory, MS. Born on August 22, 1933, in Okolona, she was a daughter of Charlie and Mary Bell Strawhorn White.
A graduate of Okolona High School class of 1951, Frances went to work at a young age at Elmore’s Dime Store. She also worked at Daybright Lighting Manufacturing Company. Frances was of the Baptist Faith and she loved her family. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, embroidery work, making jewelry, and quilting. Later in her life, in 1994, she married Robert Hogan. Besides her husband, she cared deeply for her animals and she treated her nieces and nephews like they were her children. Frances enjoyed watching western movies and her outfit of choice was her comfy pajamas. Frances liked to listen to old country music and she especially enjoyed Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. She was a frequent fixture at the main nursing station at Golden Living Nursing Home and she will be missed dearly by all that loved and knew her.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Debbie Nicholson (Randy), Wren, Lisa Holeman (Carlton), Yazoo City, MS, Wayne Reeves (Diane), Pontotoc, Ray Reeves, Wren, Donnie Reeves (Peggy), Pontotoc, Randy White, FL, Shannon Jordan, Baton Rouge, LA; brother-in-law, Truman Reeves, Wren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a sister, Dorothy Reeves; brother, Charles White.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be at 3 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016, at Liberty Cemetery, Nettleton, MS, with Bro. David Highland officiating. Pallbearers will be her family and friends.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
