Amory – Flossie Jane Berry, 82, died on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Golden Living Center. Born on July 6, 1932, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Early Mem Wilson and Maerene Moreland Bearden.
Mrs. Berry attended Quincy School. On August 12, 1977, she married Wallace Berry. Mrs. Berry worked as a seamstress in the area garment industry and retired to become a homemaker. She was Baptist. Loving, caring and generous, her family, especially her grandchildren, were her life. Having a love for animals, she was passionate about the humane society as well as supporting Veterans and Native Americans. She enjoyed feeding and watching her hummingbirds, fishing, going to auctions and yard sales, eating breakfast at the Country Kitchen and Country music.
Survivors include her son, Stanley Royce Mixon, Amory; daughter, Vanessa Kitchens Harrington (Allen), Wedowee, AL; sister, Gwendolyn Sue Reed (Dave), Moody, AL; brother, Cecil D. Wilson (Mabel), Amory; grandchildren, Scotty, Anthony and Misty Mixon, Jonathan and Waylon Mixon; special great-grandchildren, Andrew and Xander Kitchens and two other great-grandchildren; special niece and caregiver, Karen “Katie Bug” Wilson, and several more nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a special grandson, Derrick Kitchens.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, November 18 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Tim McMillan and Bro. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Mixon, Jonathan Mixon, Jonathan Wilson, David R. Moffett, Allen Harrington and Ricky Moffett. Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 11 – 12:50 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
