Felix Coggin, Jr.
Virginia Beach, Va.—Felix Braxton Coggin, Jr., 76, received his final orders from his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He officially reported to Heaven on October 15, 2013. He heard: Well done my good and faithful servant. You have fought the good fight, yhou have finished the race and you have kept the faith through life and this 10 year journey with Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy.
He was reunited with his loving wife of 52 years, Doris Coggin, exactly 2 years to the day and hour of her departure in 2011.
A graduate of Nettleton High School, he was retired from the U.S. Navy as a well-decorated Master Chief after 31 years of service. Following retirement he spent 2 years loving and nurturing his granddaughter Holly. Next, he was employed by Va. Beach Public Schools for 15 years as a carpenter.
He was known for his total devotion to his family, strong work ethic, gentle kindness, and unwavering faith in God.
He leaves behind daughters, Theresa and Angie Coggin; granddaughter, Holly Pallett and husband Clay; and great grandson, Alexander. Also surviving are his brothers and sister from Nettleton, Buddy, Jimmy, and Glenda along with a host of family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix, Sr and Mary Eunice Thompson Coggin.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the people who provided support, care and surrounded Felix with love. They are also grateful to the numerous medical personnel that never gave up on him.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the New Chapel Cemetery in Itawamba County. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
