Faye Byrd Motes

Amory - Cecile Faye Byrd Motes, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Merit Health Gilmore Memorial, Amory. Born on May 5, 1932, in Greenwood Springs, she was a daughter of the late Kirby and Viola Roberts Byrd.

Faye was a graduate of Greenwood Springs High School. While in high school, she was an excellent basketball player and was offered a college scholarship to play basketball. A great mom and a great lady, Faye was a homemaker. Strong in her faith, her life was guided by Christ. Faye was of the Southern Baptist faith. She enjoyed taking care of her family, going fishing as often as she could, and listening to Gospel music. Having a passion for writing poetry, she had one of her poems published in "Reader's Digest." Inseparable in life, her three sisters always did everything together.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
