Faye Brown

Aberdeen—Faye Parrish Brown, 85, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Community Hospice—Darlington Oaks in Verona. A life-long resident of Monroe County, she was born July 6, 1926 in Becker to the late Jake and Dessie Skeleton Parrish. Before her retirement, she worked for Walker Manufacturing for 15 years. She was a Baptist and her hobbies included quilting, collecting dolls, and flowers. She also enjoyed watching channel 39, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Avery Lois Webster Buddy Verdo Cockrell (Erma) of Amory and Jackie Parris (Lori) of Hatley; two grandchildren, Johnny Cockrell (Angela) of Aberdeen and Sam Grant (Nell) of Greenwood Springs; 7 great grandchildren, Michael Cockrell (Brooke), Jacob Cockrell (Kelly), Kelly Dodge, Daniel Prestage (Mallory), Lacie Mitchem (Sam), Samantha Grant, and Joey Grant; 9 great-great grandchildren, Taylor Cockrell, Marleigh Cockrell, Wyatt Cockrell, Sarah Dodge, Alyssa Dodge, Xabier Kane Jones, Chloe Louise Carper, Destiney Faith Rogers, and Amari Renee Grant; and 2 special friends, Dot and Pauline. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, J.C., Herbert, and Billy K. Parrish; 4 sisters, Dorothy May Gray, Evelyn Ray Johnson, Linda Kay Hugart, and Amanda Jean Parrish; two grandchildren, Jackie Joe Cockrell and Jerry Eugene Cockrell. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in the Hatley Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
