Farrar Loden, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, at his residence in Amory. He was born in Monroe County, Mississippi on December 19, 1932, to the late Charlie B. and Vera Hadaway Loden.
Farrar graduated from Shannon GI School in 1957. He selflessly served in the United States Army in Korea. He married the love of his life, Martha Parham, on November 16, 1956. Together they raised two daughters. Farrar was a family man who was ambitious and an entrepreneur. In 1958, he started his own business, Loden's Body Shop, which is still successful today. He was proud of seeing his business grow, which he started from scratch. He was faithful member of Cason Baptist Church and he loved the Lord. He really enjoyed working in Children's Church and helping others in need. Farrar was known as "Uncle Farrar" to many kids and he was passionate about teaching children about God.
He was a true family man and spending time together with his children and grandchildren was very important to him. He also cared dearly for the elderly and handicap people. In his free time, Farrar loved to go dirt track racing and mud riding. He built a really big monster truck which he affectionately named "MS Bullfrog". He also liked to go hunting and watch Nascar races. A patriotic servant, he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He loved to listen to Elvis Presley as well as Country Music and "Rockabilly". Some of Farrar's closest friends were Sam Carpenter, James Maxey, Luther Taylor, and Johnny Brown. He was thankful and blessed with many more friends, too numerous to list. Amory will not be the same without Farrar and he will be missed greatly by all that had the pleasure to know him
