Amory – Evelyn Nix Todd, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Dogwood Plantation, New Albany. Born on March 29, 1925, in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Iris McAlister Nix.
Mrs. Todd was a graduate of Greenwood Springs High School, Class of 1943. On May 30, 1943, she married William Byron Todd. For over 30 years, Mrs. Todd was a teller and branch manager for Bank of Amory. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Amory. Her life was surrounded by family and friends, especially her wonderful grandchildren. Mrs. Todd enjoyed flowers, decorating, and entertaining. An avid bridge player, Mrs. Todd belonged to several bridge clubs, including the “Sara Lee” Club.
Survivors include her son, William Richard Todd (Jo), Ripley; grandchildren, Jennifer Mauney (Joey), Oxford and John Todd (Charity), Houston, TX, and Shelley Cribbs (Tommy), Oxford; great-grandchildren, Max Mauney, Ellie Mauney, Madeline Todd, Elijah Todd, Lily Kate Todd, Thomas Cribbs, and Samuel Cribbs; and special friends, the Staff at Dogwood Plantation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Todd.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with The Rev. Jimmy Criddle officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Todd, Joey Mauney, Max Mauney, Tommy Cribbs, Archie McKinnis, Dr. Leonard Goodgame, Jr., Gary Morgan, and Greg Barkley.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
