Evelyn Nertewitz

Smithville – Evelyn O. Nertewitz, 82, died on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. Born on October 15, 1929, in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Olga Yurka Nertewitz.
Evelyn was very strong in her belief of God, an independent woman, a hard worker, and loved to help others in anyway she could. Living in Chicago most of her life, she attended Banking School in Chicago IL and employed as the Vice-President for 49 years by Lakeshore National Bank in Chicago before relocating to Amory where she worked at Gilmore Memorial Hospital. Evelyn enjoyed her family, friends and her pets. A member of Smithville Methodist Church, Evelyn was passionate about her church and St. Jude.
She is survived by her closest family, Ruth and Ted McGee of Muscle Shoals AL and Nicole McGee of Milwaukee WI; her cousins, Richard Barr, Edward Barr, Gabrielle Liesse, and Michael Barr; special friend, Ann Enarson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Richard Barr IV.
