Amory – Evelyn Holley Fritch, 91, died on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Oak Tree Plantation. Born on January 11, 1920, in Hatley, MS, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Earley Bailey Holley.Mrs. Fritch was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1938. After school, she went to work for BellSouth as an operator. Joining the US Army during World War II, she honorably served in Italy and France. When she came home to Amory from serving her country, Mrs. Fritch returned to BellSouth. After 13 more years of service, she became a seamstress at Amory Garment until retirement. A strong Christian lady, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she was active with the Homebound Ministry for Shut-ins. A sweet, loving, and caring person, Mrs. Fritch’s passion was helping and serving others. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, and watching the Gospel station on television. She is survived by special nephew and niece and caregivers, Joe and Janice Benton, Amory; a brother, James K. Benton (Jewel), Amory; and nieces and nephews, Margie Farrar (Billy), Amory, Dee Dodd, Pinson, AL, and Joe Mike Benton, Birmingham, AL.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Wilson; and brothers, Arthur J. Benton and Andy Holley. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, November 17 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Simpson and Bro. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Rickert, Tom Crook, Tommy Parish, Tommy Tapp, Bobby Neal Reeves, and Frank Finney. Honorary pallbearer will be Bro. Jesse Betts. Honorary pallbearer will be Bro. Jesse Betts.Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
