Aberdeen – Eula Mae Kennedy, 99, finished her earthly course and began her new life in Heaven on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Born on August 9, 1922, in Selmer, TN, she was a daughter to the late Monte Evans and Maggie Carter Evans.
Eula Mae grew up in McNairy County, TN in a large family, having five other siblings. She attended school in Tennessee and later moved with her family to Aberdeen Mississippi while her mother Maggie worked in Prairie Mississippi. Later, Eula Mae graduated from Vaughn’s Beauty College and worked as a teacher at Vaughn’s for many years. During her lifetime, she was married twice and was blessed with a daughter, two wonderful grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She loved God and her family and was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church in Amory as well as a former member of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. Eula Mae was strong in her faith and never hesitated to tell others about God and how he had blessed her. She was a ladies Sunday school teacher for many years. A woman who knew no strangers, she was a little bossy at times yet loving and especially liked to spoil her grandkids. Some of her close friends were Billy Farrar, Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, and Mrs. Deborah Johnson.
In her free time she enjoyed listening to Christian hymns and Gospel music. She grew beautiful vegetable and flower gardens and really enjoyed just spending time visiting with family and friends.
Her family has no doubt that the reunion in Heaven was amazing as she was the last living sibling in her family. She will be missed greatly yet the memories of her will live on in her family and friends’ hearts.
