Greenwood Springs — Eugene R. Hall, 89, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017, at Diversicare Healthcare in Amory, Mississippi. Born on September 29, 1927, in Vernon, Alabama, he was a son of the late Crockett and Louollie Pitts Hall.
Eugene attended school in Vernon, Alabama. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith and he was a proud born again Child of God. Mr. Hall was passionate about his church, serving, and the joy that it gave to him. He loved to hear Gospel music. Eugene was employed as a night watchman at Glenn Manufacturing in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi.
He was a most gentle and kind man with a wonderful personality. Eugene loved to talk to anyone that he met. He loved to be outdoors where yard work was a favorite pastime as well as hunting and fishing. He loved to travel and go car shopping with his sons and grandchildren. Eugene was most proud of his family and the wonderful times he had with each of them.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Betty Carolyn Easter Hall whom he married on September 6, 1952; son, Jerry Glynn Hall, Greenwood Springs, Mississippi; grandchildren, Christopher Hall (Kristen), Caledonia; Brandon Hall (Brittné), Splunge;, James Hall, Hamilton, Alabama; Michael Hall (Rachell), Winfield, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Evan, Christina, Zack, Ashley, Braxton and Brittlan Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mickey and Sharon Hall; brothers, Milton, Willie, Onnie and Aubrey Hall; sisters, Amanda Jordan and Pauline Price.
A Celebration of Life Service for Eugene Hall will be at 2:00 PM,Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Scott Nicholson and Mr. Jerry Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Durrett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher, Brandon, James, and Michael Hall; Tim Gideon, and Phil Frye.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM, Tuesday, January 10 at the funeral home.
