Estelle Holley
Nettleton – Valeria Estelle Gann Holley, 90, began her new life in Heaven on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was born on June 1, 1932, in Pontotoc County, MS to the late Horace Gann and Opaline Anderson Gann.
Estelle attended school in Nettleton and later finished her education by obtaining her GED. She was an amazing woman who blessed by God during her lifetime with five sons and a daughter as well as a large extended family, including 21 grandchildren! Estelle worked as a seamstress at Red Cap Industries for over 35 years and she also worked as a cook at the BP in Hatley. Through the years, she made many close friendships with her co-workers. A woman driven to provide, she always ensured that her family had what they needed.
She loved the Lord first and foremost and her faith guided her daily walk. Estelle was a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church and she loved to be with her church family. She enjoyed listening to Gospel music, spending time with family and friends, especially Mary Ruth Ridings, a close friend.
Estelle loved having family get-togethers, cooking and gardening. There will never be another like her and her family is grateful for all she had done for them. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny Holley (Donna), Amory, Randy Holley, Nettleton, Billy Holley, Nettleton,, and Gary Holley (Beth), Richmond Hill, GA; 21 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lynn Curtis, Shannon, MS.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Herschell Holley; her daughter, Gail Kuykendall; and her grandson, Nat Pearson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS with Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Nettleton, with pallbearers being Jason Bryant, Gary Poole, John Holley, Austin Gregory, Roy Bates, and Wesley Hendrix.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home in Amory, MS.
