He was born December 11, 1934, in Lamesa, TX, to the late Bill and Henrietta Naumann Steinke.Living most of his life in Monroe County, Mr. Steinke married Shirley Mae Hill on December 6, 1958. He worked as a carpenter for Dick Sanderson Construction in Amory for thirty years. Mr. Steinke was of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. Attending Wildwood Chapel Baptist Church for the past eleven years, he enjoyed going to church and being with his church family, listening to gospel music, fishing in his catfish pond, and watching the Gospel Channel 39. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mae Hill Steinke, Amory; sons, Bobby (Kay) Richey, Charles (Jamie) Steinke, and Kenneth (Mary Jo) Steinke, all of Amory; daughters, Shirley J. Price of Memphis, Linda K. and Brenda L. Steinke, and Jessica L. (Donnie) Sloan, all of Amory; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; brother, Carl Steinke, Pasadena, TX; and sister, Zelma Reed, Lamesa, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Walter Steinke; and two sisters, Lydia McGraw and Edna Kinsey. A Funeral Service was held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2011, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Wesley Stephens and Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery. E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory was in charge of the services. Pallbearers were Robert, James, Brandon and Michael Steinke, Tom Price, Eric Richey, Chris Harper, and Omar Hood.
