Carolina—Euple Ernestine Hall passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones at her residence. Born on October 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Edrie Mae Garner Hodges.
Ernestine graduated from Itawamba Agriculture High School with the Class of 1945. She then continued her education at Wood Junior College where she obtained an Associate’s degree in Social Work. She married Curtis Hall on June 1, 1952, and they were blessed with three children.
Ernestine had a passion for others and loved to work at the Carolina Community Center. She was also a faithful member of Carolina United Methodist Church, where she worshipped for 55 years. She loved her community and her church family. Ernestine and Curtis were over the 4H Program and enjoyed spreading the gospel together. She and Curtis also spent many years working with the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) and impacted many young hearts in the process. In her spare time, she liked to cook and work on her craft paintings. Ernestine also enjoyed listening to Gospel music.
Above all things, Ernestine loved her family the most. She was very happy spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her sweet nature and loving heart.
Ernestine is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Curtis Hall; daughters, Sue Walton (Jerry), Ballardsville Community, Patti Powell (David), Carolina Community; son, Gary Hall (Shirley Faust), Carolina Community; grandchildren, Brent Hall, Amanda Wright, Misty Daniels, Heather Powell, Dusty Walton; brother, L.Q. Hodges (Peggy), Nettleton; sister-in-law, Mary Hodges, Kennowa, GA; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sharon Gasaway.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hodges.
A celebration of life service for Ernestine Hall will be at 3:00PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Carolina United Methodist Church. Bro. Danny Wilburn and Bro. Joey Goodwin will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Brent Hall, Chase Wright, David Wright, Levi Garrett, Dale Mills, Joe Ingle. Burial will be at Carolina Church Cemetery.
Visitation for Ernestine will be from 1-3PM at Carolina United Methodist Church.
