Ernestine Egger “Teenie” Droke, 86, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Oak Tree Plantation in Amory. Born March 6, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Ernest N. and Minnie Puckett Egger.
A graduate of Amory High School, she worked for J.C. Penney in Aberdeen and later moved to Memphis and worked for Leader Federal Bank before returning to Amory with her husband, James L. “Jack” Droke. A member of St. Union Primitive Baptist Church, she was a neighbor to others and enjoyed going to yard sales.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Masonic Cemetery in Amory with Elder Bobby Howell officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one brother, Robert “Bobby” Egger (Ursula) of Southaven; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 brothers, Houston, Elbert, and Charles Egger; and 2 sisters, Nettie Whitten and Nell Vaughn.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
