Amory – Emma Jean Lamb Reese, 74, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on August 27, 1941, in Tremont, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lora Levell Underwood Lamb.
Emma attended school in the Carolina Community. A mother of six children, she was caring, loving and giving person who always helped others. She was of the Pentacostal Faith and she enjoyed cooking for family and friends. In life, she treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and worshipping at church with fellow members. Later
in life, she became a resident at Riverplace Nursing Center. She enjoyed the fellowship at the facility especially when doing things such as Bingo and Dominoes as well as the singing in groups. One of her closest friends was Ms. Richardson. She enjoyed listening to Gospel Music and she would tell anyone that being a Christian was her proudest achievement in life.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Presley (Hershel), Amory, Shirley Martin, Jackson, Patricia Romero (Hiporol), Irving, TX, Linda Mallery (Gerald), Horn Lake, MS, Betty Stevenson (Dallas), Olive Branch; son, John Parker, Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Jewell Dean Garrett, Amory, Martha Ann Westmoreland (Wendall), Dorsey, Debbie Fay Keith (Donald), Plantersville, Francis Morehead, Courtland, MS, Nancy Ann Parker, Courtland, Margie Moore, Sardis; brothers, Russell Reed Lamb, Nettleton, Jimmy Lamb, Amory; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Ruth Emerson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, October 9 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Gray, Bro. Larry Monaghan, and Bro. Mike Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery, Nettleton, MS. Pallbearers will be Randy Presley, Albert Young, Larry Presley, Daniel Keith, Donthaniel Keith, and Bryan Pearson.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
