Amory- Eloise Miller, 93, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Darlington Oaks Hospice in Verona. Born February 25, 1921 in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of James (Jim) Franklin and Harriet Edna Pace Owens. She married James A. “Bill” Miller in 1963 while living in Kenosha, WI.
In her earlier years she attended New Hope Baptist Church. After moving back to Parham Community, they owned and operated Millers Grocery, which she added a material and flower shop to. A hard worker, she made many funeral and cemetery floral arrangements for the community. A dedicated mother and grandmother, she raised her 4 children alone and also raised a granddaughter, even helping with her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed making quilt tops, cushions and purses. She loved life, her family and staying busy.
She is survived by her daughters, Ivy Holland, Red Bay, Wanda Wright (Bob), Tupelo and Linda Barrett, Tupelo; son, James Barrett (Ruth), Ohio; sisters, Lynn Williams, Oplean Duckworth and Tupel Patterson, all of Fulton; grandchildren, Randy Holland (Kathy), Rhonda Hester, Randle Holland (Regina), Craig Wright (JC), Robbie Wright (Angie), Jimmy Barrett, Lisa Barrett, Todd Puckett (Lisa) and Melinda Cagle; 18 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra Quay; brothers, Troy, Allen, Auvern, Delores and Delynn Owens; a great great granddaughter.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jerry Grammer and Bro. James Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Holland, Randle Holland, Craig Wright, Robbie Wright, Kyle Palmer and Cameron Wright.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 10am-1:45pm.
