Smithville – Eloise W. Lindsey, 88, died on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on April 2, 1923, in Smithville, she was a daughter of the late Carlos E. & Ovie Holloway Sullivan.
Eloise loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Her favorite activity was raising and selling dogs, which she devoted many years to after retiring from Amory Garment Company where she had worked over 30 years. She had several dogs and a cat that she kept as pets who were her constant companions.
She is survived by a son, Billy Barrett (Sharron), Fulton; sisters, Opalean Murphy and Reba Turner of Amory and Mildred Culverhouse (Gary) and Lara Gene Wheeler of Fulton; brother, James H. “Buddy” Sullivan (Jackie), Bigbee; grandchildren, Brandon Barrett (Leigh-Ann) and Sarah Barrett; two great-granddaughters, Shelby and Samantha Barrett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Noe and Vernie Sullivan, and two children, Bobby Dean Barrett and Maideen Barrett.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 23 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Van Dale Hudson and Bro. Jim Wismer officiating. Burial will follow in Young Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home and will continue until the service hour on Saturday.
