Amory - Eloise P. Bailey, 90, died on Sunday morning, August 7, 2011, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. The youngest of eleven children, she was born on September 5, 1920, in Itawamba County to the late Arthur (Ott) Julian and Lula Booth Patterson.
She married Charles Bailey on Christmas Eve, 1939. Mrs. Bailey was a hard-working, independent woman who had her own ideas and always shared them with family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress and avid gardener as well as a salesperson who could sell anything. Loving animals and always having a pet, Mrs. Bailey believed everyone should have a dog or cat in the family.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Bailey (Debra), of Dorsey; daughter, Charlette Williams of Booneville; 3 grandchildren, Chris Williams (Rosanne) of Lake Bluff, IL, and Darbie Bailey and Reid Bailey of Dorsey; 2 great-granddaughters, Cassie Williams of London, England, and Carson Williams of Glasgow, Scotland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Bailey; four sisters; and six brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, August 9 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Parker, Marcus Posey, Roger Beacham, Eugene Beacham, Peyton Rawls, Nathan Wilbanks, John Robert Patterson, and John Wayne Burt. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of River Place Nursing Center of Amory.
Visitation will be from 1 PM until the service hour on Tuesday.
