Ellis Reid Riley

Bigbee - Mr. Reid Riley was called home on November 4, 2018. He enjoyed farming, horse showing, car shows, fishing, old westerns and "piddling" on his old cars. He had a love for the world, but especially for his grandchildren, family and friends. Reid was as giving as he was loving. If you had a bad day, Reid would make you smile with a joke.

After service 17 years on the Amory Street department, Reid retired home to enjoy life with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Jack Riley, two sisters, Dorothy Riley and Ruth Gaines.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Louise Riley,two children Suzy Franke of Amory and Billy Capps of Nettleton; two grandchildren, Will Franke of Amory and Becky Capps of Pontotoc; two sisters Hattie Mae Rossi of Amory and Helen Riley of Mantachie; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

He will be surely loved, remembered and missed. Rest well in that garage in the sky.


Visitation for Mr. Riley will be today, Monday, November 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

Graveside services will be on Monday, November 5, 2018 in Amory Historical Cemetery at 3:00 pm, weather permitting. Pallbearers will be Will Franke, Jeff Tubbs, Billy Ray Hood, Ricky Holiday, David Long, D.J. Box, Blake Meggs.
