Wren- Ellen Finley Clark, 74, died Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice in Verona. Born June 5, 1938 in Wren, she was a daughter of the late William Curtis and Flora Gentry Finley.
A lifelong resident of Wren, Mrs. Clark graduated from Wren School. She married Bobby W. Clark in 1957 and was affiliated with the Christian Church. With Mr. Clark working on the railroad, Mrs. Clark was very independent, often doing work on the farm, and selflessly gave of herself for her husband and children. Having a green thumb, she enjoyed working in her flowers, especially her roses, feeding and watching birds, and most of all she enjoyed watching the sunset, and always looked forward to a new day. Mrs. Clark, affectionately known as “Nonnie” by all of her family, will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son, Joe Clark, Wren; daughter, Beth Gann (Tommy), Wren; grandchildren, Curtis Clark, Caleb and Leah Gann, all of Wren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Community Hospice.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby W. Clark, who recently passed away March, 29 and a sister, Lois Strawbridge.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April, 03 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. David Pannell and Bro. Robert Secrist officiating. Burial will follow in Coontail Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Gann, Mike, Richard, and Kyle Huffman, David Strawbridge, and Scott Oglesby.
Visitation will be from 12 PM- 1:45 PM prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
