Bigbee - Ella Virginia “Eloise” Jones, a long-time resident of the Bigbee Community, died Thursday the 11th of February at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in 1925 in the Ballardsville Community to the late Robert Lee Dean and Velma Irene Harrison Dean, Eloise married Charles Edward “Ed” Jones on May 6, 1944. Eloise was an employee of Amory Garment for 45 years and a head supervisor of the plant for 25 of those years. She loved sewing, gardening, canning, cooking, her church, and her family. She was well-known for her fabulous fried pies.
She is survived by three sons - Charles Franklin Jones (Shirley) of Jackson, TN; John Dean Jones of Baldwyn, MS; Jerry Lee Jones (Glenda) of Nettleton, MS; 1 daughter – Rebecca S. Young (Donald) of Nettleton, MS; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and two special canine friends, Trixie and Little Bit.
Eloise is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Jones, of 52 years; her son, Edward Lamar Jones; 1 brother, Bill Dean; and 2 sisters, Georgia Whitesides and Elaine Gillentine.
Funeral services officiated by Bro. Justin Haynes will be held at 11 am at EE Pickle Chapel in Amory, MS. Burial will immediately follow at Jones Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Jones, Corey Jones, Trey Pusser, Dax Payne, Cameron Payne, Austin Kelley and Jason Jones.
