Smithville- Elizabeth “Granny” Ritter Waycaster, 79, died Monday, March 11 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born November 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Esmond and Kattie Ritter. She married Buddy Waycaster, who precedes her in death.
Mrs. Waycaster was reared and attended school in Smithville. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and retired from Red Kapp, in Amory. A people person, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her church friends. Having a great sense of humor, she enjoyed going to church camp and pulling pranks on the kids, fishing, cooking, reading and traveling.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Rogers (Marilyn), Becker, Kendall Waycaster, Becker, Randall Waycaster, Smithville, and Rodney Waycaster (Cindy), Becker; brother, Junior Ritter, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Morris, Crystal Oliver, Daisy Tomlin, Matthew, Cory, Caleb, Nathan, Joshua, and Jonathan Waycaster; great grandchildren, Lila Clayton, Abby Oliver, Candice Oliver, Brayden, Addison, and Molly Morris, Grady and Lily Irvin, and Carson Waycaster.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Waycaster; daughter in law, Donna Waycaster; brother, Daryle Ritter.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 P.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Mac Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Young Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Matthew, Caleb, Jonathan, Cory, and Nathan Waycaster and Brayden Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Barrett, Odeen Adams, Kenny Moffett, Van Hilt, Mike Steele, Willie Myatt, and Ralph Mitchell.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12 from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M.at the funeral home.
