Amory - Elizabeth Swan died Wednesday, November 30th at Oak Tree Plantation in Amory, Mississippi.
She was a daughter of the late George Moman and Victoria Clemtine Jordan Sanderson and was born on September 16, 1926, in Monroe County Mississippi. She was a graduate of Becker High School. She was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church. She held various jobs over her lifetime, but spent a large part of her life as a homemaker serving at her church and in the community when needed.
She enjoyed embroidery, reading, cooking and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons Michael Swan and Tony Swan both of Amory; three granddaughters, Lori Clark of Amory, Holly Swan of Bay Springs and Jennifer Spencer (Clint) of Oxford; three great-granddaughters, Tori Clark , Harli Miller, and Neely Sha Spencer; two great-grandsons Taylor Smith and Cannon Spencer; one great great granddaughter, Layla Ray, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Durley Swan, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Moman Sanderson, daughter Deborah Smith, an infant son, five bothers Jack, Largus , Trannie, Granville, and Edgar Sanderson, sister Evelyn Ray and grandson Shane Smith.
A graveside service for Mrs. Swan will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Boggan Cemetery. Dr. Lloyd Sweat will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Perry Newton, Clint Spencer, Chad Ray, David Mitchell, Joe Benton, David Stanford and Steve Fowlkes.
Visitation for Mrs. Swan will be from 12:30 – 2:30 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorials are given to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
