– Edwin “Cutter” Brasfield Gray, 67, died on Friday, February 11, 2011, at Darlington Oaks Hospice. Born on July 7, 1943, in Tupelo, he was a son of the late Edwin Eugene and Mary Ruth Brasfield Gray.Edwin was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 1962, and attended Memphis Technical College. Having worked as a pressman and a cutter for Monroe Trouser, he retired after 20 years with MDOT as a bridge inspector. Edwin served in the Army National Guard for eight years. He attended Turon-New Bethel Methodist Church. A strong-willed and loving man, his family was very important to him. Edwin enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting coins and knives, listening to Bluegrass and Country music and his animals, especially his cats.He is survived by two sons, Brian C. Gray and fiancée, Heather Marshall, Smithville and Edwin Corey Gray and special friend, Misty Tucker, Smithville; brother, Gary Thomas Gray and special friend, Connie Holcomb, Tupelo; grandchildren, Alyssa Gray, Laynie Gray, Austin Reams, Kyland Gray, Cole Cooper and Kirsten Cooper; and niece, Kimberly Ann (Samuel) Schulz, Caledonia.A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Smithville with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Turon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kirk and Frank Marshall, Ray Silas, Mike Cox, Jerry Harris and Carlos Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Cooper and Zack Lann. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Saturday at the funeral home in Smithville.Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, P. O.
