Edward Lee Strawbridge, Jr.

Belden – Edward Lee Strawbridge, Jr, 57, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his residence in Belden, Mississippi. He was born on February 11, 1966, in Aberdeen, Mississippi to the late Edward Lee Strawbridge, Sr. and Lona Bell Rea Strawbridge.

Growing up, Edward had three sisters and he was great brother to them. Edward graduated from the Zion-Benton Township High School, attended the Lake County Community College and graduated with the class of 1984 and finally attended The University of Mississippi. He was a Mechanical Engineer, brilliant, and was a great provider for this family. His employment included working for Knight & Wilson out of Memphis, TN and later he worked as a Chief Mechanical Engineer with Tri-Star Mechanical in Batesville, MS. Some of his greatest accomplishments included some design projects such as work at St. Jude, some Memphis Zoo Exhibits, and the Razor Back Stadium work

He was a caring son and excellent father who was blessed with a son. Once you got to know him, you loved him. Edward was passionate about helping the kids at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Through his life, he was blessed with a host of friends but his family meant the most to him. His favorite type of music was 80’s rock n roll music. Always someone who liked a challenge, in his free time, he built computers. Edward was so intelligent and was always able to complete any difficult task put before him. He was focused and driven, not letting others distract him easily, he would often say “be there in just a minute”. His attention and love will be missed by his family and friends.

The memories made together will live on in the hearts and minds of those he left behind.
He is survived by his son, Edward Lee Strawbridge, III, (Danielle), Mantachie, MS; sisters, Ruthie Thillen, Krugerville, TX, and Teresa Wilbanks (Farin), Belden; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Strawbridge and a niece, Julie Thillen.
