Greenwood Springs –Edward H. Law, 81, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at his residence. Born on June 21, 1929, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late George Cleveland and Loreen Duke Law.

Mr. Law was a graduate of Quincy Schools. He married Frances Evelyn Capps for 35 years before she preceded him in death in 2006. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Edward was retired from Walker Manufacturing in Aberdeen where he worked for 31 years. He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church being active in Brotherhood and other church related activities. Mr. Law loved his family and being able to work. Gospel music was a favorite of his and when he was able, he loved to hunt and garden.

He is survived by his daughters, Edna Woodman (Woody) of Houston and Debbie Sloan of Greenwood Springs ; his son, Howard Law (Sherry) of Greenwood Springs; his sisters, Ruth Funderburk ofHamilton and Mae Christopher of Marietta GA; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; daughters, Linda Hatcher and Donna Smith; his son, Nicky Chaney.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 15, 2011 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro Jackie Dauphin officiating. Burial will follow in Durrett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Hawkins, Zachary Hawkins, Tommy Woodman, Andy Sloan, Jason Law, and David Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Reeves and Jackie McNeese.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday and Friday and until the service hour at the funeral home.
