Edna West

Amory – Edna Louise West, 83, died on Monday, July 26 at River Place Nursing Home. Born on May 20, 1927, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Ben & Velma Nelson Parish. A lifelong resident of Amory, she married Joe Borden West on November 22, 1951. Mrs. West was a homemaker and a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and puzzles. She is survived by daughters, Patty (John) Davis, Millington, TN, and Debra (David) Strawbridge, Amory; sons, Joe T. West, Amory, and David (Kathy) West, Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Ben “Pete” (Jackie) Parish, Arlington, TX; sister-in-law, Nellie Parish, Amory; grandchildren, Ryan, Emily and Halle West, all of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchild, Aubrey Oldham, Lakeland, TN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charlie West; granddaughter, Sara West; sisters, Lena Miller, LaVerne Hughes, and Peggy Basham; and brother, James Parish. A funeral service for Edna L. West will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home with Mr. Marshall Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Basham, Chris Basham, Rodney Parish, Ryan West, Thomas Harrison, Gerald Kent, Doug West and Harold West. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of River Place Nursing Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday until the service hour. Memorials may be given to Amory Kiwanis Children’s Fund, Amory, MS 38821-0439.
