Greenwood Springs – Edna Madilene Camp Knight, 85, died June 13, 2011 at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born on July 25, 1925 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Jeptha James and Dora Puckett Camp.
Madilene was a graduate of Greenwood Springs High School and attended Mississippi College and Business College in Birmingham Alabama. She lived at Golden Living Nursing Center in Amory for a short time. She married L. B. Knight, who preceded her in death. Being a loving woman, her family was important to her and she loved them dearly. Madilene worked in the garment industry for many years at Glenn Manufacturing and retiring at Real toc in Beaverton AL. She loved gospel and western music, flower gardening and cooking. Crafts were enjoyable to her especially making floral arrangements. Madilene was a member of Shiloh North Methodist Church in Lamar County, Alabama.
She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Lou Knight Harris (Allan) of Harker Heights TX and Mary Sue Knight Moore (David) of Amory; grandchildren, Tony Harris, Tommy Lee Woodham(Tammy) , Amanda W Hall, Shilo Harris, Cory Woodham, Michael Harris; 6 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Matthew Woodham, Anika Harris, Alexandria Woodham, Logan Hall, Chandler Woodham, Luke Hall, and Mason Woodham; 7 step-great-grandchildren; several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, Horace H. Camp.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro Dale Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Blaylock Cemetery in Lamar County, AL. Pallbearers will be Timmy Armstrong, Keith Hester, Ronnie Duke, and family and friends.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 – 9 PM, Wednesday June 15th and Thursday June 16th until service time.
