- Edison "Pork Chop" Hathcock, 75, died on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice.Mr. Hathcock attended Hatley schools. After retiring as a machinist from Walker Manufacturing, he drove a bus for Lift, Inc. Mr. Hathcock was of the Primitive Baptist faith. An outdoorsman, he loved his dogs and hunting and fishing, especially running trout lines. He founded Section Branch Hunting Club and was a member of James Creek Hunting Club. A special man with a big heart who never met a stranger, Mr. Hathcock enjoyed trading/bartering, being a prankster and watching Hee Haw.He is survived by a daughter, Tina (Greg) Coker, Smithville; son, Phillip E. "Chop" Hathcock, Fulton; sister, Florence Knight, Kenosha, WI; brother, John A. Hathcock, Hatley; grandchildren, Courtney Harper, Nashville, and Alan Coker, Amory; great-grandchildren, Logan Coker, Hayden Harper and Conner Coker; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bruce Williams, Jimmy Umfress and Jimmy Dahlem.A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Tim McMillan and Andy Hathcock officiating.Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.Memories may be given to New Hope Baptist Church, 60013 County Barn Rd., Amory, MS 38821.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
