Edgar Howell

Amory – Edgar Hugh Howell, 63, died on Monday, February 7, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Born on September 7, 1947, in New Albany, he was a son of the late Roger A. & Mavis Lee Howell.
Edgar graduated from high school in Illinois and moved to Amory in 1973. He honorably served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. A heavy equipment mechanic, he had worked at Scribner Equipment Company. His faith being very important to him, Edgar was a member of North Boulevard Christian Church, Amory where he served as an Elder and teacher. A very giving and helpful man, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing, and listening to Country music.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandy Littlejohn Howell, Amory; daughter, April (Brian) Rollins, Smithville; son, Jeff (Melanie) Howell, Amory; brothers, David Howell, New Albany and Roger Tate Howell, Belden; grandchildren, Matthew and Anna Howell and Seth and Summer Rollins; and several nieces and nephews.
In remembrance of Edgar, the family requests memorials are given to North Boulevard Christian Church Youth Fund, 1201 N. Blvd. Dr., Amory, MS 38821.
