Earlene Pounds
Smithville— Earlene Pounds, 92, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Diversicare in Amory. Born on December 28, 1925, in Vernon, Alabama, she was the daughter of Felix Rector.
Earlene was a faithful member of Cross Bound Church. Before moving to Smithville, she attended Amory Freewill Baptist Church. Earlene was a strong and caring individual, who loved everyone she met. She was a hard worker and an excellent cook. Earlene was an avid Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves fan.
Earlene’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is now rejoicing in heaven. She has left a lifetime of memories for her loved ones. The family of Earlene Pounds would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Diversicare for their support and care.
Earlene is survived by her son, Johnny Pounds (Debbie), Amory; grandchildren, Kathy Trimm Mayfield, Ferril Trimm, John Pounds, Rachel Pounds, Jacob Pounds, Becky Pounds, Christopher Pounds, Stacy Pounds, Jeremy Pounds, Carole; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Browning; sons, Charles Trimm, Jerry Rector, Wade Pounds, and Ronnie Pounds.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Earlene Friday, May 18, 2018, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM, with Bro. Kevin Crook officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Nettleton. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 18, from 12:30 PM-1:50 PM at the funeral home on Friday.
