Amory – Earline Ritter Brock-Gilmore, 87, died on Friday, May 30, 2014, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on January 25, 1927, in Bigbee, she was a daughter of the late Robert Howard and Madgie Malinda Ann Harris Ritter.
She attended Bigbee Schools. On August 24, 1945, she married James Herman “Pete” Brock, who passed away on March 20, 1995. On March 23, 1996, she married Opal Gilmore, who died on January 1, 2010. Living in the Bigbee and Cason Communities nearly all of her life, she moved to Amory in 2012. Strong in her faith and passionate about her church, she was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church. As a homemaker, she was proud of keeping her home. A loving and easy-going lady, she enjoyed shopping, eating out, reading, traveling, loved dolls, and collecting butter molds and dishes.
She is survived by her nieces, Frances Ritter Gann, Amory, Linda Tibbitts Willis (Bud), Columbus, Peggy Roberts Smith (Jimmie), Amory, and Sylvia Guyton, Amory, and Wanda Dzikielewski (Joe), Amory; nephews, Earlie Wayne Conwill (Eloise), Amory, Johnny F. Conwill (Deborah), Madison, Jerry Conwill (Linda), Amory, Billy Guyton, Amory, and Tony White, Bigbee; step-children, Kenny Gilmore (Gena), Linda Tidwell, and Betty Joe Plunkett (Charles), all of Amory; sister-in-law, Jeraldine T. Ritter, Amory; several great, great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews; and her little dog, Jack, whom she loved and was her constant companion.
In addition to his parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Flora Conwill and Marie Tibbetts; brothers, Earlie, Tommy and Ollie Ritter; nephews, Tommy C., Thomas, Robert E. and Herbert Ray Ritter; and a son of her heart, Bro. Tommy Whaley.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, June 1 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Clinton Worthy and Bro. Harvey Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Roberts, Johnny Gann, Jr., Michael Harlow, Terry Conwill, Robert Ritter, Austin Harris, and Tyler Harris.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8PM, Saturday, May 31 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to a church or charity of choice.
