Nettleton – Earl “Pete” Gray, 79, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Gilmore Memorial RMC. Born on September 22, 1935, in Nettleton, he was a son of the late Roger F. and Lucille Johnson Gray.
He attended Pine Grove School. On June 3, 1972, Pete married Pauline Finney. Before retiring, he worked as a cutter in the area garment industry. Pete was Baptist. His daughter, son-in-law and most of all, his grandkids, gave him the most enjoyment in life. A 32nd degree Mason, he used to be a very active member of Richmond Masonic Lodge. One who always remembered dates and special days, Pete liked to study history and quiz his family about random facts. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed coin collecting and Old Country music.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Gray Jones (John), Nettleton; sister, Catherine Gray, Nettleton; and grandchildren, Abby and Adam Jones.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gray.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, April 25 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Masonic Rites will follow. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Hester, Mark Rakestraw, Robert Gray, Lance Payne, Michael Hester, and Gary Finney.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
