Amory –Earl Anderson Brock , 90, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2012, at his residence. Born on August 19, 1921, in the Cason Community, he was a son of the late Elmo Brock and Minnie Hester Brock.
He married Evelyn Majors in 1947. Mr. Brock attended Bigbee School. He worked at Glenn Manufacturing, and retired from Red Kap Industries. Being a WWII veteran, he enjoyed telling old war stories. He was a member of Cason Baptist Church, and served as a Deacon for 47 years. A man who loved God, he was passionate about spreading the gospel news of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking numerous family trips to the Smokey Mountains. He liked to watch the St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and Bro. Grady on Channel 39.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Majors Brock; daughter, Diane Tidwell (Bobby) of Amory; Sons, Curtis and Travis Brock of Amory; grandchildren, Bobby Joe, Brad (Emily) and Scott (Nikki) Tidwell; great grandchildren, Stacy Patterson (Kelsey), Bailey Doolittle, Isaiah and Parker Tidwell; great-great grandchildren, Holden Patterson; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Thornsberry and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Odom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Pearl Gilmore, and his brothers, Grady, James, and Johnnie Merle Brock.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, March 16 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jim Manley, Bro. Tommy Whaley, and Bro. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Gilmore, Charles Plunkett, Scott, Brad, and Bobby Joe Tidwell, Gary Frederick, and Stacy Patterson. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5-8 P.M., at the funeral home.
