Smithville - Dustin W. Egger, 21, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident in Monroe County. He was born on October 26, 1989 in Amory to Adrienne Hathcock and Donald Wade Egger.

Dustin was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 2008 and was a graduate of Jefferson County Community College Railroad Division graduating as a Conductor. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard. SPC Dustin Egger completed his Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky serving in Troop A 5/15th Cavalry Training Company. SPC Egger was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. Dustin was an electrical technician at Norbord Guntown. Cody Haynes and Justin Tate were two of his numerous friends that Dustin enjoyed doing everything with. He was a member of Smithville Baptist Church. Dustin was a very affectionate person his family being a very important part of his life. Dustin loved playing sports, hunting and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his parents, Adrienne and Jason Hathcock of Vernon AL; his father, Donald Wade Egger of Sulligent; his sisters, Logan Waldon of Vernon AL, Riley Egger of Hamilton MS; his brothers, Braxton Hathcock, Jace Hathcocok, Haden Hathcock all of Vernon AL; his grandparents, Richard and Carol Abston of Vernon AL, Wilburn and Pat Hathcock of Greenwood Springs, John and Judy Hardy of Sulligent AL, Donald and Mary Egger of Sulligent; his great-grandmother, Virginia Ruffin of Vernon AL and Daisy Lee Egger of Sulligent.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro Clyde Stephens and Mr. Luke Gardner officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Haynes, Drake Young, Tyler Leech, Blaine Adair, Luke Gardner, Bud Cox, Brian Pierce, Justin Tate and Ken Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be his three brothers Braxton, Jace and Haden, classmates of Smithville High School Class of 2008, and members of HG 1-98 CAV Reg.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, May 20, 5:30-9 pm and continue Saturday, May 21 until time of the service.
