http://videos.lifetributes.com/159930Amory – Dudley E. Williams, 84, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on April 9, 1926, in Amory, he was a son of the late Bryan and Mae Ross Williams.
He honorably served his country in the US Navy during World War II. For 45 years, Mr. Williams owned and operated Dudley Williams Electric in Birmingham until retiring in 1982. A very faithful servant, he was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Mr. Williams shared a great love for and with his family and cherished their time together. He was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed traveling throughout the US with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, June Brasfield Williams, Amory; sons, Denis (Jill) Williams, Birmingham and Dana Williams, Atlanta; step-son, Joe (Kim) Fears, Amory; step-daughter, Sherry (Tommy) Fears, Amory; grandchildren, Emily and Daniel Williams, Tammy (Lee) Minor, Tracy (Michael) Cox, Misty (Glenn) Adams, Jeremy, Zach and Jon Paul Fears and Alicia (Jeff) Rimmer; 8 great-grandchildren, Eric Minor; Emily Pearson; Jacob, Jillian & Jolie Cox; Riley Adams; and Jules, & Dylan Rimmer; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Lilly Pearson and Cullen Minor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Holloway Williams; daughter, Rosemary Williams; sister, Erline Waycaster; and brother, Lowell Williams.
A funeral service for Dudley E. Williams will be held at 2 PM, Thursday at the funeral home with Mr. Marshall Eubanks and Mr. Chase Surrell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Cox, Glenn Adams, Lee and Eric Minor, Zach and Jeremy Fears and Jeff Rimmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Cox, Jon Paul Fears, Daniel Williams, Linwood Byrd and Brenda Waldrop.
Visitation will continue until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Christian Chapel Church of Christ, c/o Youth Programs, 60127 Vaughn Rd., Amory, MS 38821.
