Hazel Green, AL – Dudley “Dud” Weaver, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Huntsville Health and Rehab. Born on May 13, 1926, in Amory, he was a son of the late Ivy and Vernice Harmon Weaver.
Dud was a graduate of Smithville High School. He honorably served in the US Army Air Corps in the 421st Night Fighter Squadron during World War II. On January 11, 2003, he married Maxine Lakin. Having worked at Wilson’s, where he first met Maxine, Dud drove a truck for Holsum Bakery. An excellent salesman, he later went into restaurant sales, calling on Universities in the Southeast. Yet, his love was being outside working on the farm and raising cattle. A good and honest man, Dud was a hard-worker with a strong work ethic. Full-of-life and a man of faith, he was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. Dud enjoyed volunteering and doing carpentry work at the church. Having a big heart, he was passionate about taking in dogs and staying busy working around his home. In his spare time, Dud enjoyed going to auctions and watching television, especially football and Fox News.
