Brookhaven - The Rev. Dr. H. Wayne Webster, 65, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at his residence, in Brookhaven. He was born on May 2, 1949, to Betty Jean Tribble Webster and the late Hoyt Coleman Webster.
Rev. Webster was a graduate of Emory University, in Atlanta, with a Master’s Degree in Divinity and was a graduate of St. Paul School of Theology, in Kansas, with a Doctorate of Ministry. He also held a Master’s Degree from University of Mississippi in Fine Arts. Rev. Webster was a Pastor and District Superintendent for the Brookhaven District of United Methodist Conference.
He is survived by his wife of 36 plus years, The Rev. Carolyn Webster; son, David Webster, Brookhaven; daughter, Amanda Webster, Brookhaven; and one grandchild, Kalindi Elizabeth, Brookhaven; mother, Betty Webster, Becker; three sisters, Joann Brosky (Joe), Becker, Peggy Wiltshire (Buddy), Belmont. and Susan Eldridge (Barry), Houston; two aunts, Johnnie Webster Baker (Grady), Caledonia and Mary Dell Tribble, Amory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt C. Webster; and grandparents, Will and Lovenia Webster, and Joseph and Crim Tribble.
Services for Rev. Dr. H. Wayne Webster will be held at 11 AM, Monday, February 23, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Brookhaven. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. An additional visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to service at the church.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, February 24, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Burial will follow in Durrett Cemetery, Quincy. Pallbearers will be Joe Brosky, Buddy Wiltshire, Barry Eldridge, Michael Fulgham, Steven Fulgham, J. R. Threet, Paul Lasky, Jim Scrivener, and Tommy Brown.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home in Amory.
