Emily Coker Entrekin

Germantown, TN – Emily Coker Entrekin, 40, left this earth to go to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Born on June 30, 1977, in Amory, she was a daughter of Rex and Gloria Myatt Coker.

Emily grew up in a loving Christian home in Amory, MS. She graduated with the Amory High School class of 1995. An intelligent driven young lady, she went onto get her bachelors at USM where she was an active member of ADPi Sorority. Her sorority sisters grew a close bond which only strengthened over the years. At one of the ADPi parties, she met the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Entrekin whom she married on May 26, 2001. That same year, she received her graduate degree from University of Memphis. Emily went back to school and received her doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania in 2010. Accomplished, she was a member of the National Speech Language Association as well as the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

During her life, she and Mike were blessed by God with three children. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, and sister who, in addition to caring for her family, she had a career caring for other’s needs. Emily worked at the ENT Clinic in Nashville and when her husband’s military job relocated them to Korea, she work in Audiology for a couple years until her daughter was born. Her family traveled a lot while they were overseas. When her family moved to Ft. Polk, US, she continued to be a full time homemaker who poured into her family as it grew.

Emily was wise beyond her years and she had a very strong faith in God. Her family eventually moved to Germantown, TN where they felt like they were part of a family in the community. The Entrekins quickly became members of Germantown Baptist Church. She invested her precious time into her family and they were blessed by all the great memories she gave them. Emily was an organized planner who arranged all the travel plans for the family on their Disney trips and cruises, right down to embroidering shirts for the children to cherish.

Her husband Mike would say that she was a devoted and loving mother to four children, with himself being one of the kids. Emily’s parents said that she was wonderful daughter and beautiful person. She kept the kids busy during the summer with camps and family adventures. She enjoyed doing crafts with the kids and any type of activity which created memories that would last a lifetime. Emily was intellectually engaged with the world and she enjoyed listening to Talk Radio and Glenn Beck. She liked contemporary Christian music and especially For King & Country. Emily loved being an at home mom and she always cherished time with her loved ones. Words cannot adequately describe all that Emily meant to her family and friends.
