Doyle Wayne Morris

Amory – Doyle Wayne Morris, 67, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on March 4, 1948, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Claude and Dula Kennedy Morris.

Doyle attended school in Columbus. He was a very talented man who could fix anything and he worked as a mechanic all his life. He was a Christian of the Baptist Faith. When he wasn’t working on cars, he loved spending time with family, playing cards. Doyle was a fisherman and he loved to travel and see his country. His favorite music was country and rock and roll.

Survivors include his daughters, Nicole Morris (Jonathan) of Aberdeen, Christie Morris, West Point, Shannon Morris, West Point; son, Russell Wayne Morris, Oxford; sisters, Barbara Harrington, Amory, Elizabeth Jones, Aberdeen, and Samantha Ferraro, Hamilton; grandchildren, Colton Morris, Damien Morris, and Chelsea Jenkins; a host of nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Morris; sisters, Lavelle Thompson, Sue Morris, Francis Chandler, and Brenda Ann Morris.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Harrington, Douglas Smeiley, Ken Funderburk, Gary Carr, Johnathan Morris, and Rusty Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Micheal Harrington, Austin Funderburk, Buford Hawkins, and J.R. Funderburk.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Le Bonheur’s Children Hospital at 850 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN, 38103.
