Smithville- Doug Allred, 66, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born May 24, 1947 in Monroe County, he was a son of Cordie Lindsey and Albert Allred.

Doug grew up in and attended school in Monroe County. He retired from Cooper Tire with several years of service and was saved in the Baptist church. A devoted family man, he enjoyed spending time with his daughters and especially his grandchildren. Having a great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life, he was able to make many friends through the years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially rabbit hunting, raising and running his rabbit dogs.

He is survived by his daughters, Missie Ralph, Smithville, Debora Brown (Mark), Smithville and Jenny Nix (Tim), Birmingham; son, Austin Allred, Smithville; sisters, Doris Mudeni, Sharon Allred and Beverly Ficca, all of Wisconsin; brothers, Jimmy Allred (Peggy), Wren, Stanley Allred (Lisa), TX and Mark Allred (Mary Ann), WI; grandchildren, Madison Ralph, Noah Nix, Matthew Ralph and Makenna Ralph; several nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Carolyn Strawbridge and Annette.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at E.E. Pickle Funeral with Bro. Benny Loveless officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curt Umphress, Byron Rogers, Eric Mills, Jimmy McCool, Phillip Thompson, Frank Vanasselburg, Robert Turner and Michael Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Presley and Albert Young.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funewral home from 5-8pm.
